Tailoring is Key

Hello Hello!!!  So as some of you may know or have noticed I am a short person.  I am 5’2 and a half.  Being this short I have perfected climbing on the counters in order reach things, jumping in grocery stores in order to get what I want.  But clothing for the most part is not too much of an issue.  Tops are super easy because I just have short legs.  Pants I don’t have too much of an issue because you can buy those with a specific inseam.

Skirts I have to be a little bit more careful about because they tend to be styled for a taller person in mind.  I have been looking for a pleated skirt in a metallic color, not sure why.  I found this skirt, it is designed to be a midi so I was kind of concerned because midis tend to be maxis on me.

So it basically looks like a short maxi, so my worry was valid.  But this skirt was pretty cheap so I just intended on hemming it myself.  The hem on this skirt is pretty unfinished so I figured I could straight cut it and have no issues, and if it frayed it would only get shorter which I did not have issues with.  (if it continued to fray it might end up as a mini and I think I like the look of that)  Anyways I decided to cut 3 inches off (I am not typically a sewer so if I can fix this skirt you can too).

I personally think it looks so much better as an actual midi length.  So do not be afraid to hem anything or go to the tailor to get something professionally hemmed, it is worth it.  Now I love this skirt, and I cannot wait to wear it out.  The left was just for comparison sake to show you the same outfit again.  The right was right after I finished hemming it so ignore the straps of my sports bra under the shirt.

Let me know your thoughts.

This shirt – soft, comfy And cute

Hello Hello Hello – I am here to share with you this treasure of a shirt that I have found.

I have been looking for an open shoulder/ cut out shoulder top all summer.  I kind of stumbled across this one on Amazon and ordered because it was on Prime and it was less than $15.  I got this shirt and loved it immediately.  It is one of the softest shirts I own and is also made of a really light fabric which is perfect for summer and remarkably comfortable. Since the shirt is big and long it will billow in the wind nicely which will show off your figure. I really like big long shirts because they will cover my butt when I wear skinny jeans.

This shirt is convenient because it is so easy to throw on but it looks so stylish and on trend right now that you will look put together.  I wore this to my friends cookout and got a lot of compliments.  Was even asked why I dressed up so much (it was really chill like sweatpants chill).

This is the outfit I wore to the cookout with a pair of toms, it was actually kind of cold here so the pants were necessary, I also wore this outfit to work on casual Friday and it worked out nicely.

Anyways I was skeptical about buying this shirt at first because there were mixed reviews about sizing.  Some people said it ran big and others said it ran small, how that’s possible I don’t know.  I personally think this shirt runs large, this is a small and I feel like I should have bought a size smaller.  Also since this is Amazon there are like 20 different colors you can choose from.
