Hello Hello!! Sorry for being absent for a little while there, I was trying to figure out my life and what I wanted to do. Still haven’t quite figured it out but I know one thing I want to do, I want to move to a bigger city so I will try to make that happen. In the mean time I will try to not be an absent blogger in the future.
So have you guys ever found an item of clothing that you absolutely loved but talked yourself out of buying because you don’t really need it? Well I have done this a few times and most recently with a pair of over the knee boots. I love them and every time I saw someone on instagram wearing them I wanted them even more. But I didn’t buy them every time because I figured I had a pair kind of like them, which I did have a pair of over the knee boots already in grey.
So I just kept the page up on my browser and would look at them every so often and think about buying them. Then one time I looked and they were on sale, 40% off. I would link these but they appear to be all sold out. They are Vince Camuto over the knee boots. So what I love about these are the details on the top and around the ankles. They are these laser cut out pieces that add a lot of extra detail to boots that would otherwise not have any. So long story short after a debate I bought them. So happy about this purchase.
Now they are suede so you do have to seal them before you wear them in order to protect them from the elements. I have used a few different products to do seal my suede clothes and shoes and have been happy with it, this one or this one.
But once I sealed these boots and it wasn’t raining out, I was all about wearing these boots out and about. The suede is seriously the softest I have felt and they just feel luxurious. I love wearing them, I wore them on back to back days at work, no regrets. Yes it is getting warmer out so I am trying to get as much out of them as I can before I retire them for the season.
I will say that they are a little tight on my calves, I thought I would have a little room but once I put on skinny jeans there is not much. They are for 15 inch calves which should provide me with enough breathing room but I think they are a little smaller then 15 inches.
Let me know your thoughts.
Hello hello! I wanted to revisit this topic, please see the blog/ rant I did a few months ago when I was looking for over the knee boots. The gist of that is that I was annoyed that finding a pair of boots to fit my calves was so hard, I work out and think I have average calves nothing huge but apparently too big for the fashion industry.
I have found a pair I think are worthy to talk about on the blog, and I love them so much. Now to be very honest, I really wanted a good pair and was willing to pay to get a great pair. The pair I bought was Vince Camuto Melaya Over the knee boots, they were a Nordstrom exclusive and appear to have sold out, but I would recommend the designer because these boots are amazing. I was waiting to share because I well they were back ordered when I bought them and then I was away when they got to my apartment and then I wanted to wait to wear them to get a feel for them. They are undoubtedly amazing and look great with any outfit, I wish I could wear them more.
So I have been wearing them on dates, as that is where these two outfits came from. And seriously I honestly just love to wear them, I wore them at my apartment for hours one Sunday trying on my dresses to see which looked best. And if they ever do come back into stock I will have a serious thought about buying them again because they are that great of a boot.
Yes this is from the Sunday that I spent trying on clothing but needless to say the dress I am really excited to wear these boots out with are shift dresses. I feel like it just adds another element and makes my legs look super good and they make a statement.
Anyway let me know your thoughts
I know I know, nothing for like 6 months and now I am a frequenter of going out to eat in a dateish format. Haha but what can I say, once I feel I am too busy to date is when people start asking me out. Regardless I still love going into my closet and picking out clothes to wear out.
In case anyone forgot it has gotten super cold here so wearing skirts and dresses has become a real tough decision. So this time around I went for a more classic look of jeans, a black shirt and I wore a casual blazer as a cardigan. (I have been looking for blazers that can be used both for work and going out.)
This is an outfit most women can pull off, get a great pair of skinny jeans, and a black shirt and you have this outfit. Pair them with some boots to complete the outfit. The outfit gives off a out together yet casual vibe that works well for week night dates like the one I went on the other night. To dress the outfit up I added this really great statement necklace that just sparkles, its one of my favorites.

Yes, yes I did! And now lets all take a minute to look at the date category and reminisce about the last time I had a date. Haha, it was awhile ago, please feel free to find it humorous, I certainly do. I do not go on dates often but I love dressing for a date, you can dress up a little bit without having to go super fancy of a more formal event.
I was way more excited about my outfit then I was about the actual date so who knows about any future dates at this point. But seriously the outfit, I was planning this in my head earlier in the day before this skirt even got delivered. I wanted to wear this skirt and these boots so badly, but they do come off as dressy so I was really looking for a shirt to down play that. I went with this cute plaid shirt that I rolled up the sleeves on and gave it a more casual vibe.
This skirt, is amazing and I loved wearing it on the date. I think it worked really well and gave off the casual but stylish vibe I always go for. I want to look put together and fashionable but still be chill at the same time, especially on first dates. This outfit accomplished that, the skirt is tweed and gives off a very put together vibe. Paired with some over the knee boots and the plaid shirt gave the outfit the fashionable and casual look that I was going for. I cannot wait to wear this outfit again, as well as the skirt and boots separately. They are both very new and I am excited about them.
As a side note about this skirt it is great for every day as well as a date, it has an elastic waist so it will fit at your waist perfectly. The fit of the skirt is A-line so it will compliment most women’s figures, while also not being too tight. And best of all IT HAS POCKETS!! Pockets that you can actually fits stuff in which was a very nice surprise when I opened my package
I paired the skirt with my brand new over the knee boots, which really elongated my legs, I actually felt like my legs were longer in this outfit. This was really nice because as I have stated it is cold here so having boots that came up over my knees and almost met the bottom of my skirt was amazing when I was outside.
So the skirt is only available in a few sizes, yea I know super sad… But I did see these other skirts that are similar and come in a bunch of colors, including black. Also I would size down they seem to run large and they have an elastic waist so for more usage I recommend a smaller size.

Hello World! Now this is not going to be like my normal posts and I apologize but I am annoyed with the fashion industry and their standards of ridiculously small.
I have wanted over the knee boots since I was in high school and I promised myself that when I bought them they would be great boots worthy of their price tag. So finally in the real world I have some extra money to buy a great pair of these boots and make myself super excited. I saw a style that I wanted and started to look online, I measured my calf because that is a big deal, and found the ones I thought would be best. (For the record mine is 15 1/2″ which I like to think is average).
I bought these boots from Sole Society and I was so excited – I raced home over lunch to try them on and that excitement lasted until I tried them on. They would not fit over my calves, my mood nose- dived so fast, I could have sworn I checked into this. I went on their website and weirdly they do not list the calf circumference they will fit around, on boots who does that? So then I was really annoyed and realized they do not list that on any of their boots and when I send them back they charge me for shipping, (are you kidding me?)
So this started me on the journey that got me to really annoyed. I immediately started looking for another pair of boots and paid special attention to what calves they will fit over. So I checked out some normal shoes places- DSW, Zappos – and realized most boots only fit up to a 15″ calf and some their large calf selection were up to 15″. What if you are wearing jeans? How tiny of a calf do you need in order to be able to wear these boots?
Then I switched to looking at the websites for my favorite shoes and looking at their over the knee boot selection. This brought me to Kristen Cavallari by Chinese Laundry and my tag question. The boots that Kristen Cavallari designed have a maximum circumference of 13″, are you kidding me? Kristen, do you even have 13″ calves? And this brought me to the point of super annoyed and I had to stop.
I am not calling out any woman who has 13″ calves and can wear these boots, more power to you. I am very jealous you are able to wear these boots and I am stuck here with my calves that all of a sudden the industry has made me think are extra large. I just work out and my calves reflect that and I just want a pair of boots that will pull over my athletic calves.
Sorry about the rant, I posted because I figured a lot of people could relate. I will have updates because I am still looking for a great pair of over the knee boots, I cannot disappoint my high school self.
