Hello Hello!! It was my birthday this past weekend, and I love dressing up and going out on my birthday. It was cold and kind of shitty out this weekend so I didn’t quite get to wear the outfit I had pictured in my head but mother nature does what she wants.
There were a few different phases to my birthday so I may have changed outfits 2 times, haha yea try not to judge. First, my friend and I have the same birthday so we met up for lunch and some drinks then I had some friends over to my place to chill, day drink, and play games then go out.
The one on the left was the outfit I wore to lunch with my friend. It kind of took me awhile to land on this outfit I was pretty indecisive about what to wear. I kind of re-discovered this shirt when I was cleaning out my closet, and I have been wanting to wear it since. This tank top has a white cheetah print on the front and the back is all open with only black mesh on the back. I decided to cover it up with the blazer since you know it was only lunch. (I would love to share where I got this shirt but I bought it in college so I could not find it).
Outfit on the right, I was dying to wear. I just bought this shirt and when I tried it on I knew immediately I wanted to wear it on my birthday. It is right up my style ally right now, it is a long crop top so when paired with jeans it looks really good. The deep embellished V is amazing, I absolutely loved it. It was revealing that it showed off my bra a little but I decided I was okay with that. I had originally thought about wearing it with black jeans but it was hard to tell where the shirt stopped and the jeans began so it looked better with these blue jeans.
I had a great time celebrating, but lets not talk about how old I am. Haha

Hello hello!! Yes I had such high hopes that winter was over but this little cool drizzle that has come around reminds me that it never goes away. We had a casual day at work, midweek! Which I usually love because I love my jeans style game but don’t get to wear them as often. This casual day had me going into my closet and coming back with boots and sweaters. Because apparently it’s still boots and sweater season.
This is my favorite sweater, it’s black and goes with everything. Down the back it has a lace up detail that adds a little something unexpected to the sweater. Obviously paired with this great statement necklace to brighten up the outfit. Add in my colored jeans and brown knee high boots to complete the outfit.
I would like to say that this better be the last week I have to pull out my boots and sweaters. While I love boots and sweater season but I would like to put them all away.
Hello hello!!! Is anyone out there looking for a great business casual skirt that is bold but can still work in your wardrobe? I have found a great one and it’s on sale. This skirt is similar to one I own and have been waiting to buy again. When I ordered it the final price came out to $20, but it is a final sale so be careful with sizing.
So I just got this yesterday so I have only worn it once but I feel fine recommending it since it’s so similar to my favorite skirt. It’s a really comfortable skirt and the button details on the side are really great to accentuate your figure. The color is the reason I bought it, who doesn’t want to own a red pencil skirt. It will make a big statement every time you wear it.
So the reason I was so willing to buy this online without trying it on was because I have a very similar skirt from Loft already. The skirt was such a great deal that I was ok if it didn’t fit. So my waist is 27″ and I do have a butt and thighs. I ordered a regular size 4 and it does fit well a little big around my waist but I’m ok with that.

Hello hello!! I wanted to name this post how to get away with being the laziest person at the bar and no one noticing, then I remembered guys can just put on pants and no one questions them.
Anyways, this weekend I was having a chill night and somehow I was convinced to go out. I didn’t want to spend a ton of time getting ready, so I went into my closet and looked for clothes that I could wear and it would look like I spent a lot of time getting ready.
This gets much easier in the summer/ spring when clothes are less bulky, but since we were down in the 50s that day I had to make do. So I went for boots, jeans, and a pretty casual top.
The reason this outfit really works and doesn’t look like it was just thrown on is due to the colored jeans, animal printed top and the leather jacket. The colored jeans, I love to have these in my closet to mix in because she you wear them it’s unexpected and people tend to think you put more thought in rather then just throwing on regular jeans. Animal printed tops are great if you don’t own one please buy one, I prefer zebra print. This one is actually a giraffe printed top, I got it years ago and it’s just been a great top that I can throw on. As with the colored jeans most women don’t just throw on an animal printed top, so when you do it comes off as a statement. (And it looks really great with the burgundy jeans). Lastly, the leather jacket it’s just the toping on the outfit. Finishes everything off and looks amazing.
This was my first time wearing the jacket and I could not be happier. This light grey color didn’t really match the grey of the boots which I will put as a slight critique but the jacket is amazing I couldn’t pass up wearing it. It’s the blank NYC jacket, if you want the link I’ll get it but it was expensive. Well worth the price in my opinion.

Hello Hello!! Now I wanted to share and outfit that I have been envisioning in my head for awhile (or like since I bought the shirt). As I previously stated the last time I did a blog post about mixing pattern, I don’t typically do it because its hard and I don’t own a lot of patterned clothing so it is hard to mix what you don’t have.
Anyways I am super excited about this outfit.
So these are two of my most comfortable clothes so I decided to combine them together and be super comfortable at work. (I mean leaving out the heels of course).
So why does this work for mixing patterns? When I mix patterns I like to stick with one piece that is black and white. I consider a black and white pattern to be one of the most neutral you can get because both colors go well with anything. I added my patterned skirt and this takes the outfit to a bold level. I love it, I feel like yes there is a lot going on but it is still very flattering. The horizontal strips typically are not very flattering but given the shirt is tucked into a pencil skirt and my waist is defined, it works out very well.

Hello hello!! Finally we have strung together a few days of consistently 70 degree weather and I am ready for summer. So much so that I am breaking out my summer going out clothes. I am excited about the tank tops, lace shirts and light shirts, and wearing them out without a jacket.
Yes I was a little lazy this weekend and went with flats most days but in my defense this is the first time I can wear sandals so I am also really pumped for that as well. I didn’t fully commit to the all summer feel since I didn’t bring out my shorts/ summer dresses/ rompers, but it just felt way to early for that. So this weekend I stuck with jeans and my fun tops. The grey one I have had forever, it is hard to describe but it has these small holes all over so it is like lace. Of course the all over lace shirt I bought in the fall I am dying to wear it in the summer. Then my classic chill tank top that I wear all the time in the summer.
I can feel it, lace shirts are going to be my thing this summer. I have this one and I bought like 3 more, I don’t envision myself stopping.

Hello hello! In fashion there are all these rules, don’t wear this and don’t wear that because you’re short/plus-size/tall etc. At first I took these at face value because I assumed someone had been testing them out, now I seem to try them out more.
You shouldn’t wear horizontal stripes because they will make you look wider, which I guess is kind of true but I think it depends on the person and the shirt. I don’t really own a lot of striped shirts but I wanted one. I found this shirt on Amazon, of course, and decided to give stripes a try. It helped that on this adventure the shirt was only $15.
The shirt is long so as a short person I do have to tuck it in to make sure I look put together. When I first got it I was like this shirt is so long I’ll never wear it. Then a casual Friday came along and I was like I’m lazy what can I wear without an undershirt. At that point I loved it and now want to wear it all the time.
I cannot say enough about this shirt. The cut and fit of it are amazing, yes it’s long but it’s not huge at the bottom so I am able to to tuck it in and still look good. This is also one of these softest shirts I own so I am inclined to wear it all the time.
