Hello Hello!! So obviously it is the holiday season and my work had their holiday party last weekend. Now dressing for a work holiday party is always a balancing act, more for women then men. I want to go in my closet and find something amazing, that is dress but not evening gown dressy, stylish and fashionable but also still appropriate for work. I try to not buy a new dress to wear for this because it is just once a year. Also I have to remember what I wore last year and try not to wear that again. Last year I wore a dress that was partially backless and I thought I pushed the bar too far, at least for me.
I love this dress, I have owned it for awhile just have not had many events to wear it to. This dress is called a wiggle dress which I love, it just makes me feel like the dress is meant for dancing which I absolutely love. (It is currently unavailable in most sizes, if you absolutely love it, ASOS has a lot of these dress I would look up wiggle dress on the search bar. They are UK sizes which was confusing to me when I bought this but I am wearing a UK 10 hopefully that helps, I typically wear a US 4).
So what does this dress do for me that a lot of other similar dresses do not? What I love is that the top of this dress is a little lose. It has a little more volume to it and has these big sleeves. Then the dress cinches at my waist, in doing this it makes my waist look really tiny. I do not have a naturally small waist, its more straight with a slight curve in, so if I just wore a tight dress it doesn’t look very small. But with the dress having more fabric on top, cinches at the waist and then the skirt is tight, really highlights my waist.
To brighten up the outfit I wore it with these red heels, I would link them for you but my parents bought them for me when they were in Italy. Probably one of the best presents I have been given. They are actually remarkably comfortable. Then lastly, I added this necklace that is just so sparkley.

Hello Hello!! So obviously Halloween was this week. I love Halloween, not because I am good at thinking of great costumes but because I love watching what everyone else comes up with. People watching on this day is the best, I love to talk with people about who they are dressed up as.
So with that being said I am not very good at coming up with costume ideas on my own and I don’t always want to spend money on a costume that someone else came up with. This year I wanted to just go into my closet and find something that will work as a costume. When I was talking with some friends about going out and I thought hey I could go as Sandy from Grease. That would be super easy.
I mean it was really easy, I just went into my closet and found my black skinny jeans (would have been better if I had moto pants but I do not), I put on a black tank top tucked in, added a belt and finished it off with a leather jacket. You cannot see in the photo but Sandy is wearing red mules, so I added my bright red pumps. All and all I am really happy with how it turned out and it only cost me $0. This is probably a costume I would repeat since I already own everything and it was so easy.

Hello Hello!! Do you ever have one of those nights that your friend wants to go out but all you want to do is lay around and be lazy? Yea, happens to me too (like all the time, haha), just kidding but I do have the nights where all I want to do is stay in.
Well this weekend I had a friend come into town and we hung out during the day and she visited some other friends so I was just chilling at home getting comfortable. When I get a phone call from her saying we are going out and we are in dresses and heels (damn). I don’t see her that often so I wanted to hang out but man getting fancy did not sound fun. So here is how I tricked people into thinking I actually tried.
So to trick people into thinking I took a lot of time getting ready, all I really did was get a little black dress (classic when trying to do this), and then I added a leather jacket and heels (in this case heeled boots).
Alright so when I went into my closet I was literally looking for the easiest dress that I own. I didn’t want it to be tight, I didn’t want it to be short, I wanted the fabric to be soft and I wanted to be able to wear it with a jacket. I tried on a few dresses before I landed on this black dress. I have probably owned this little black dress since high school, I have never been able to get rid of it because it is such a classic dress. It is just a really simple dress, cinches right under the boobs and just flows. It’s not real short, the one thing about it is that it is low cut.
The suede leather jacket was great because it was cold but also it made me feel more comfortable because it covered up my chest. I love this leather jacket I think it is really comfortable and cool. And then I added some heeled boots. I did this mostly because these boots allowed me to wear socks without anyone noticing I was wearing socks.
(If you would like in sight into exactly how lazy I was when getting ready, look at the pictures. I am not wearing any accessories. I am not even wearing earrings. I actually had taken out my contacts before my friend called and I refused to put them back in so I was actually wearing my glasses out).

Hello Hello!! So one of my friends is getting married and I am having this huge debate in my head about what I should wear. When I first got the invite in my head I have already decided what to wear.
So I love this dress, I think it is a very flattering look and fits me very well. I love that it is lose on top and the skirt is tight. This for me creates the illusion that I have a smaller waist then what I actually do. The slit in front makes if fun and flirty and perfect for a wedding. I personally love this dress.
But I was texting my sister asking her opinion and it made me question my decision. She said that it looked beige and didn’t really look good. So then I went back to the drawing board and came up with a few other options.
So I just got this skirt and its a little fancy so I have been dying to find a place to wear it to. Both of these options have the same skirt but different shirts. One is a tight grey shirt and the other is a lose shear navy shirt.
This gold pleated midi skirt is amazing and looks super fancy, I love that. I actually had to hem it so it is a midi on me, I am short. But now that I hemmed it and it actually hits mid calf, I am ready to wear this out. So I like the dark shirt look with this skirt, I think it really allows the skirt to shin and be the center of attention. I think this would also be very wedding appropriate, as it is fancy enough but not over the top. I also think it will be great for dancing, will allow me to move around a little more freely then the other one.
If you have an opinion please let me know, I am open to other people’s opinions.
Also if I wear the skirt I will cover up the elastic band with a belt.
Hello Hello!!! So as some of you may know or have noticed I am a short person. I am 5’2 and a half. Being this short I have perfected climbing on the counters in order reach things, jumping in grocery stores in order to get what I want. But clothing for the most part is not too much of an issue. Tops are super easy because I just have short legs. Pants I don’t have too much of an issue because you can buy those with a specific inseam.
Skirts I have to be a little bit more careful about because they tend to be styled for a taller person in mind. I have been looking for a pleated skirt in a metallic color, not sure why. I found this skirt, it is designed to be a midi so I was kind of concerned because midis tend to be maxis on me.
So it basically looks like a short maxi, so my worry was valid. But this skirt was pretty cheap so I just intended on hemming it myself. The hem on this skirt is pretty unfinished so I figured I could straight cut it and have no issues, and if it frayed it would only get shorter which I did not have issues with. (if it continued to fray it might end up as a mini and I think I like the look of that) Anyways I decided to cut 3 inches off (I am not typically a sewer so if I can fix this skirt you can too).
I personally think it looks so much better as an actual midi length. So do not be afraid to hem anything or go to the tailor to get something professionally hemmed, it is worth it. Now I love this skirt, and I cannot wait to wear it out. The left was just for comparison sake to show you the same outfit again. The right was right after I finished hemming it so ignore the straps of my sports bra under the shirt.

Hello hello!! Gah, picking out an outfit when it’s way too hot out is super difficult, made even worse when you are trying to pick out an outfit for a date. I want to look good and be cool but also not sweat through all my clothes.
At first I was all about wearing shorts because man it’s was like 90° out and I wanted to be cool.
So I love these blue shorts I think they just scream summer, and I’ve worn them out paired with this shirt before when I go out and love it. But this violates one of my hard and fast rules of not wearing shorts on a date. (Just want to hide the back of my thighs forever). So I was having a large discussion in my head to wear this or put on pants. And…. Pants won because this is what I changed into.
Yes, I gave into the desire to hide my legs. I decided that it was afternoon so it would start getting colder so I could stick it out until it gets cooler and then I’ll be fine. I love this outfit too, the black shirt half tucked into a light pair of jeans is a favorite outfit of mine.
Let me know your thoughts, should I have changed or not.
Hello hello!! So this past weekend it was kind of cold and raining a bit, obviously the best thing to wear is boots. So I was wearing skinny jeans and wanted to pair them with a cute pair of booties.
So the options are brown or black.
So yes, this outfit is very similar and does not change too much with the change of the shoes. The brown boots stick out a bit more and catch a little more attention. The rest of the outfit is muted and so allows the brown boots to be louder. The black boots in this outfit are a little more go with the flow. But then the heel of the boots pops out due to the metallic heal.
So which did I chose? I went with the brown boots to make a little bit more of a statement. I kind of went to a dive bar and the black boots felt a little too fancy.
