Hello Hello!! So one of my friends is getting married and I am having this huge debate in my head about what I should wear. When I first got the invite in my head I have already decided what to wear.
So I love this dress, I think it is a very flattering look and fits me very well. I love that it is lose on top and the skirt is tight. This for me creates the illusion that I have a smaller waist then what I actually do. The slit in front makes if fun and flirty and perfect for a wedding. I personally love this dress.
But I was texting my sister asking her opinion and it made me question my decision. She said that it looked beige and didn’t really look good. So then I went back to the drawing board and came up with a few other options.
So I just got this skirt and its a little fancy so I have been dying to find a place to wear it to. Both of these options have the same skirt but different shirts. One is a tight grey shirt and the other is a lose shear navy shirt.
This gold pleated midi skirt is amazing and looks super fancy, I love that. I actually had to hem it so it is a midi on me, I am short. But now that I hemmed it and it actually hits mid calf, I am ready to wear this out. So I like the dark shirt look with this skirt, I think it really allows the skirt to shin and be the center of attention. I think this would also be very wedding appropriate, as it is fancy enough but not over the top. I also think it will be great for dancing, will allow me to move around a little more freely then the other one.
If you have an opinion please let me know, I am open to other people’s opinions.
Also if I wear the skirt I will cover up the elastic band with a belt.
Hello Hello!!! So as some of you may know or have noticed I am a short person. I am 5’2 and a half. Being this short I have perfected climbing on the counters in order reach things, jumping in grocery stores in order to get what I want. But clothing for the most part is not too much of an issue. Tops are super easy because I just have short legs. Pants I don’t have too much of an issue because you can buy those with a specific inseam.
Skirts I have to be a little bit more careful about because they tend to be styled for a taller person in mind. I have been looking for a pleated skirt in a metallic color, not sure why. I found this skirt, it is designed to be a midi so I was kind of concerned because midis tend to be maxis on me.
So it basically looks like a short maxi, so my worry was valid. But this skirt was pretty cheap so I just intended on hemming it myself. The hem on this skirt is pretty unfinished so I figured I could straight cut it and have no issues, and if it frayed it would only get shorter which I did not have issues with. (if it continued to fray it might end up as a mini and I think I like the look of that) Anyways I decided to cut 3 inches off (I am not typically a sewer so if I can fix this skirt you can too).
I personally think it looks so much better as an actual midi length. So do not be afraid to hem anything or go to the tailor to get something professionally hemmed, it is worth it. Now I love this skirt, and I cannot wait to wear it out. The left was just for comparison sake to show you the same outfit again. The right was right after I finished hemming it so ignore the straps of my sports bra under the shirt.

Hello hello!! Gah, picking out an outfit when it’s way too hot out is super difficult, made even worse when you are trying to pick out an outfit for a date. I want to look good and be cool but also not sweat through all my clothes.
At first I was all about wearing shorts because man it’s was like 90° out and I wanted to be cool.
So I love these blue shorts I think they just scream summer, and I’ve worn them out paired with this shirt before when I go out and love it. But this violates one of my hard and fast rules of not wearing shorts on a date. (Just want to hide the back of my thighs forever). So I was having a large discussion in my head to wear this or put on pants. And…. Pants won because this is what I changed into.
Yes, I gave into the desire to hide my legs. I decided that it was afternoon so it would start getting colder so I could stick it out until it gets cooler and then I’ll be fine. I love this outfit too, the black shirt half tucked into a light pair of jeans is a favorite outfit of mine.
Let me know your thoughts, should I have changed or not.
Hello Hello!! Now I know some of you guys are like how did you not know about Zara. Well to answer that question, I have lived in places that did not have a Zara. And yes that is a very sad day that I never was able to shop there prior to my trip to the Twin Cities.
So any ways recently I went to the Twin Cities and there is a very large Zara in the Mall of America. This store is amazing there is something in this store for everyone. I do not shop at malls very often so I wasn’t buying anything but the one place I wanted to stop before we left was Zara. I just want to say the minute I walked in I saw so many things I wanted to try on. I was talking through the store just picking up things left and right to try on.
I bought a few things – I talked about the first one already, this green dress.
Second – I bought this coat
This coat is just a really soft casual coat. It is just a big slouch coat that goes down to mid-thigh. The length I thought would be weird but actually when worn with tight clothes it looks really good. Like here were I paired it with skinny jeans and a tight top. I have also worn this to work when I wear a work dress.
Lastly I bought this amazing all over lace bell sleeved top.
I absolutely love all over lace tops, I think they are so feminine and romantic and lately these types of shirts have been my speed. I have been looking to try bell sleeves for a while and this shirt kind of was just amazing when I tried it on. I didn’t think I would like the color but I actually do. The V-neck on this shirt is amazing, it is cut perfectly. The V-neck is cut narrow and deep which is great because it shows off your cleavage without being too much.

Hello Hello!!! Now weeknights for everyone are hectic, and this week especially was very hectic and busy. I felt like I was running around the entire time and I had no time for my work out. Well one day this week I was meeting my friend for a late dinner so I figured I could fit in a quick workout before heading to dinner. But I had to do a quick flip from my sweaty gym clothes to a cute outfit.
I even took this picture post workout, hence the fact that my face is super red. I did cardio this day so I was real gross. Anyways how do you go from this to presentable for a dinner. I decided to keep the outfit real simple, just skinny jeans and a v-neck noting too fancy.
I think the change went really well, there wasn’t a way to fully take care of the red checks but I think the outfit looked really chill and put together even when I was like 30 minutes post workout. I did have a debate about the shoes right up until I left, and I actually changed into a pair of Toms flats.
So the key to a quick change was really just keeping it simple no frills just jeans and a T-shirt. I also had the outfit picked out in my head prior to going to the gm otherwise I would have been super lazy.

Hello Hello!! I know I am probably pretty late to the crop top party but apparently I am self-conscious about my belly. Even though it took me awhile to come around but I have found a type of crop top that I will wear and actually looks good. (And apparently it is a trend that I am going to be all about this summer since I have bought 3).
Here is probably my favorite, and the only one I have worn since the weather finally came around.
So why do I love this crop top? Well to start off it is lace, I love lace almost anything. When I saw this crop top the lace was the reason I even looked at it. The clincher was the back details you can see below. Why does this cop top work for me? It has to do with the top being lose and a little long for a crop top. The top being loss around the bottom really works for me. When the top is paired with high-waisted pants or skirt, it really highlights how small my waist is.
My one problem with the above outfit is that I do not think my pants are high enough. I find it weird that my belly button just sort of pops out from the pants. I am on the look out for high-waisted pants that will work. Right now I have a skirt to wear it with when it is warmer and I have some shorts it will look good with.

Hello Hello!! Now I love boots and as of lately I love booties. I didn’t think I would love them as much as I do. I think they are going to be in style for awhile so that is how I validate buying them. This season I have bought a few pairs and I just want to quickly talk about what I like about each and what I wish was changed.
The two on the right are fairly similar in cut and style, they have a block/ stacked heel and the shaft goes up to the same height all around. The large picture on the left (currently my favorite if you couldn’t tell) have a stacked heel and the shaft comes to a V in front.
The two on the right-
- I love- how comfortable they are, their statement focal point (metallic heel and the straps on the back), I can wear socks with them, I like that they aren’t leather so I don’t have to be as careful with them, and their price.
- I dislike- their lack of mobility since the front comes up as high as the sides it really constricts the movement of my ankles. Which I wasn’t expecting when I bought them.
The one on the left
- I love- the V in the front, I feel like it really makes my leg look longer when I wear them, the cutouts along the side are amazing. They are this amazing suede that yes I do need to be more careful with but I feel so fancy when I wear them.
- I dislike- the leather that comes up on the side needs to be broken in, the first few times I wore them they did leave marks on my ankles but after a few wears its much better, I cannot really wear socks with them. And the price, as I said above they are real leather and designer which comes with a price tag.
Here is a quick side by side of me styling the brown ones similarly.
So which one looks better? I personally prefer the ones on the left, as I said before I think the V really elongates my legs which as a short person is great.
The next pair of booties I am thinking about buying are a pair that has a V or open sides, I think they look really cool but I am unsure how they will fit or stay on so I have been hesitating.
