Weekend of Fun (CWS)

Hello Hello!!! So yes this is the one weekend it is actually fun to live in Omaha (in my opinion).  The College World Series is in town which means that there is fun to be had all around.  So since this is the last one I will experience while living here I plan to enjoy it.  And the weather decided that 100 degrees was going to be the average.  So what does one where when it is hot and humid but you still want to be outside.

I typically live by wearing something that is easy breezy and will not annoy you.  Also for those of you who like to drink when you are out, I always try to live by what will be easy when I have a beer bladder.  Now this time around I broke one of my rules, No Rompers.

So why do I have this rule to begin with?  Well when you need to go to the bathroom in a romper you need to take it all off.  So typically when I know I will be drinking a lot I avoid the romper.  But I did wear one out this time.

Ahh this is the kind of romper I love, it has no structure, its very lose, fabric is comfortable, fabric is stretchy, and there is an elastic band at the waist.  This is a very comfortable romper.  I like that I do not need to wear a special bra but can just throw one on.  It just was a very comfortable one piece outfit that I did not have to worry about.

ALSO IT HAS POCKETS.  Although if you put stuff in the pockets it does look odd but thats not the point there are useful pockets.  So my biggest concern with the romper was the bathroom but once wearing it out it was not that big of a deal.  Since the fabric stretched it was easy to get on and off.  As long as you got used to being in the bathroom in just your bra.

I finished the outfit with a pair of flat gold sandals, I was on my feet all night outside and walking through beet tents.  It is just easier to wear flats then to try to wear any sort of heels.  I wore these beautiful white fringe earrings, I wanted to dress up by basic black outfit and these earrings were light enough that they did not bother my ears.  They also did not feel to dressy for the occasion.

For the next night I went with an outfit along similar lines.

I wore a pair of graphic shorts, with a basic white tank that has a pretty low V.  Given how hot it was outside I just went with a basic bralette.  This is probably my most comfortable bralette and I love wearing it when it is too hot for a normal bra.  And it is currently on sale, it does not appear they have the black that I am wearing but I loved this so much I actually bought it in the white that I linked.

All in all I went for a really casual vibe for both nights, you just want to be comfy when you are having a good time bumming outside.

U2 Concert

Hello Hello!!  Last weekend my neighbors gave me free U2 tickets (I know FREE).  I was pretty excited about this and its the first concert I have gone to in awhile. The entire week leading up to this I was thinking about what to wear, initially I wanted to wear a new pair of shorts I bought but then the weather took a turn for the worse and shorts seemed like a less than ideal option.

So I went with the very classic dark blue skinny jean, I paired it with this great tank top.  I tucked the top into the skinny jeans.  I am very much feeling the monochromatic look, or at least close to it.  I paired it with these great lace up sandals.  Finally accessorizing with these great earrings made by this local artist.

I tucked the bottom of my skinny jeans into the top of the lace up sandals.  I did this because I didn’t want to roll my jeans up to show the top of the sandals.  Since I figured I wasn’t really show casing the shoes and tucking the pants in would stream line the look anyways.  I loved it, I don’t know why I haven’t done it before but it worked out pretty great.

Casual Night Out

Hello Hello!!  Sorry I know I have been MIA and I apologize, but on the upside I have figured my life out (at least I think so) and I will be moving soon!!  Ahh so exciting, I cannot wait.  And yes this is the reason I have been so lax on posting.

Anyways I bought a dress awhile back that I have been dying to wear.  I was curious on how it would look since it is midi length and I am a little on the short side.  I wondered if I would just look short in it.

I agree that it does cut my legs but since I belted the dress high I do not think it makes me look as short as I thought.  There is also slits on the side of the dress that goes to mid thigh that I think adds something to the look.

I have been dying to wear this dress because of how comfortable it is, initially I thought I could wear this as a summer dress on Friday.  As it turns out the neckline is much lower then I thought it was so I will not be wearing this to the office.  I am still happy I bought it, it is a super cute casual dress.  So my friend was visiting and we were getting some drinks, and it is really hot out so I thought why not this dress?  It worked really well for the occasion.

Lately I have been loving very low necklines, I am not really sure why.  But I have bought a few tank tops and dresses that have low necklines.  I am really feeling this trend.

Again Talking Reebok Workout Pants

Hello Hello!!  I know I know I have talk about how much I love Reebok workout pants before but almost every time I buy a new pair I just feel the need to tell everyone about them.  They are just so comfortable and great for any kind of workout that I do.

So I will admit that I love black which is why I typically buy all my workout pants in black.  But these pants do also come in blue and I might buy them again in this color.

So since I buy black pants I like to have little details that make them look cool.  These have two mesh panels that wrap around the back of my calf/ knees and the back of my thighs.  I was worried about the placement of the mesh behind the knees because sometimes it annoys me.  When I am working out I do tend to use my knees and I don’t want anything there that will bother me.  But actually after working out it did not bother me at all.

These also have a very high waist, I know that this is not something everyone looks for but with my butt I tend to like to have more fabric over my butt then not.  Don’t want them falling down when I am doing squats.  They are also a really great length for me, they go down to my ankles, which as a short person is really great.

Travel outfit

Hello hello!!! So I was traveling this past weekend to Chicago. I love Chicago and had an amazing time. But Chicago in March isn’t always warm. So planning a travel outfit for the temperamental weather is a tough.

To Chicago.

So I was trying to layer up and bring a few coats that I wouldn’t have to pack in my bag. So I wore a pair of basic jeans with a grey vneck. I wore a bomber jacket over a fleece.
In the end I decided to wear my military boots. I did have a debate in my head about this but decided these were best. They have a zipper on the side which makes getting through security easier. Also wearing these means I didn’t have to pack them.

On the way back

On the way back I stuck to the basics. The military boots and skinny jeans. On top of wore a flowy sheer navy top, it was light and easy for flights. Layers are best when flying so I wore my grandpa cardigan. I also wore my fleece just didn’t picture it.

A Day for the Irish

Hello Hello!!  St. Patty’s day is on a Saturday it will be fun they say, it will be a great time.  Haha.  I kid it was a pretty normal day I actually went about like it was a normal Saturday.

But what do you do when you go into your closet and you realize you do not own any green.  I have no idea why this is one of the only colors that I do not own anything in, but it just is.  I just do not look in good in green as I do in blue so I usually do not buy green.  So a few days ago I was in a predicament that I had no green and St. Patty’s day was around the corner.  So I just wore one of my olive green jackets and hoped that counted.  Many a people did ask where my green was and I just shrugged I wasn’t going to go out and buy a color that I don’t typically like to wear for one day.

So in order to highlight the fact that this jacket is in fact green I wore all black.  I wore black skinny jeans with a black sheer top, I didn’t tuck the top in at all just left it as a more casual look.  Weirdly its still cold outside so I wore a pair of over the knee boots, mostly to keep me warm since the rest of this outfit is not very warm.  To top it all of my bomber jacket.

Over the Knee Boots

Hello Hello!!  Sorry for being absent for a little while there, I was trying to figure out my life and what I wanted to do.  Still haven’t quite figured it out but I know one thing I want to do, I want to move to a bigger city so I will try to make that happen.  In the mean time I will try to not be an absent blogger in the future.

So have you guys ever found an item of clothing that you absolutely loved but talked yourself out of buying because you don’t really need it?  Well I have done this a few times and most recently with a pair of over the knee boots.  I love them and every time I saw someone on instagram wearing them I wanted them even more.  But I didn’t buy them every time because I figured I had a pair kind of like them, which I did have a pair of over the knee boots already in grey.

So I just kept the page up on my browser and would look at them every so often and think about buying them.  Then one time I looked and they were on sale, 40% off.  I would link these but they appear to be all sold out.  They are Vince Camuto over the knee boots.  So what I love about these are the details on the top and around the ankles.  They are these laser cut out pieces that add a lot of extra detail to boots that would otherwise not have any.  So long story short after a debate I bought them.  So happy about this purchase.

Now they are suede so you do have to seal them before you wear them in order to protect them from the elements.  I have used a few different products to do seal my suede clothes and shoes and have been happy with it, this one or this one.

But once I sealed these boots and it wasn’t raining out, I was all about wearing these boots out and about.  The suede is seriously the softest I have felt and they just feel luxurious.  I love wearing them, I wore them on back to back days at work, no regrets.  Yes it is getting warmer out so I am trying to get as much out of them as I can before I retire them for the season.

I will say that they are a little tight on my calves, I thought I would have a little room but once I put on skinny jeans there is not much.  They are for 15 inch calves which should provide me with enough breathing room but I think they are a little smaller then 15 inches.
