Decisions decisions

Hello hello!! So this past weekend it was kind of cold and raining a bit, obviously the best thing to wear is boots.  So I was wearing skinny jeans and wanted to pair them with a cute pair of booties.

So the options are brown or black.

So yes, this outfit is very similar and does not change too much with the change of the shoes.  The brown boots stick out a bit more and catch a little more attention.  The rest of the outfit is muted and so allows the brown boots to be louder.  The black boots in this outfit are a little more go with the flow.  But then the heel of the boots pops out due to the metallic heal.

So which did I chose?  I went with the brown boots to make a little bit more of a statement.  I kind of went to a dive bar and the black boots felt a little too fancy.

The chill has returned

Hello hello!! Yes I had such high hopes that winter was over but this little cool drizzle that has come around reminds me that it never goes away.  We had a casual day at work, midweek! Which I usually love because I love my jeans style game but don’t get to wear them as often. This casual day had me going into my closet and coming back with boots and sweaters. Because apparently it’s still boots and sweater season.

This is my favorite sweater, it’s black and goes with everything.  Down the back it has a lace up detail that adds a little something unexpected to the sweater.  Obviously paired with this great statement necklace to brighten up the outfit.  Add in my colored jeans and brown knee high boots to complete the outfit.

I would like to say that this better be the last week I have to pull out my boots and sweaters. While I love boots and sweater season but I would like to put them all away.

Efficient and easy going out outfit

Hello hello!! I wanted to name this post how to get away with being the laziest person at the bar and no one noticing, then I remembered guys can just put on pants and no one questions them.

Anyways, this weekend I was having a chill night and somehow I was convinced to go out.  I didn’t want to spend a ton of time getting ready, so I went into my closet and looked for clothes that I could wear and it would look like I spent a lot of time getting ready.

This gets much easier in the summer/ spring when clothes are less bulky, but since we were down in the 50s that day I had to make do.  So I went for boots, jeans, and a pretty casual top.

The reason this outfit really works and doesn’t look like it was just thrown on is due to the colored jeans, animal printed top and the leather jacket.  The colored jeans, I love to have these in my closet to mix in because she you wear them it’s unexpected and people tend to think you put more thought in rather then just throwing on regular jeans.  Animal printed tops are great if you don’t own one please buy one, I prefer zebra print. This one is actually a giraffe printed top, I got it years ago and it’s just been a great top that I can throw on.  As with the colored jeans most women don’t just throw on an animal printed top, so when you do it comes off as a statement.  (And it looks really great with the burgundy jeans).  Lastly, the leather jacket it’s just the toping on the outfit.  Finishes everything off and looks amazing.

This was my first time wearing the jacket and I could not be happier. This light grey color didn’t really match the grey of the boots which I will put as a slight critique but the jacket is amazing I couldn’t pass up wearing it.  It’s the blank NYC jacket, if you want the link I’ll get it but it was expensive.  Well worth the price in my opinion.

Booties a quick pro/con list

Hello Hello!!  Now I love boots and as of lately I love booties.  I didn’t think I would love them as much as I do.  I think they are going to be in style for awhile so that is how I validate buying them.  This season I have bought a few pairs and I just want to quickly talk about what I like about each and what I wish was changed.

The two on the right are fairly similar in cut and style, they have a block/ stacked heel and the shaft goes up to the same height all around.  The large picture on the left (currently my favorite if you couldn’t tell) have a stacked heel and the shaft comes to a V in front.

The two on the right-

  • I love- how comfortable they are, their statement focal point (metallic heel and the straps on the back), I can wear socks with them, I like that they aren’t leather so I don’t have to be as careful with them, and their price.
  • I dislike- their lack of mobility since the front comes up as high as the sides it really constricts the movement of my ankles.  Which I wasn’t expecting when I bought them.

The one on the left

  • I love- the V in the front, I feel like it really makes my leg look longer when I wear them, the cutouts along the side are amazing.  They are this amazing suede that yes I do need to be more careful with but I feel so fancy when I wear them.
  • I dislike- the leather that comes up on the side needs to be broken in, the first few times I wore them they did leave marks on my ankles but after a few wears its much better, I cannot really wear socks with them.  And the price, as I said above they are real leather and designer which comes with a price tag.

Here is a quick side by side of me styling the brown ones similarly.

So which one looks better?  I personally prefer the ones on the left, as I said before I think the V really elongates my legs which as a short person is great.

The next pair of booties I am thinking about buying are a pair that has a V or open sides, I think they look really cool but I am unsure how they will fit or stay on so I have been hesitating.

How to choose what boots to wear?

Hello Hello!!  Well winter came back this week, how unfortunate…  The weather went from 70s and sunny last week to 30s and windy and cold.  So obviously we are back to boots season (I am not mad about that), I love boots season.

So this Friday since its back to boots season, I go back to my usual debate of what booties should I wear this time?  The weather is 20s/30s, its windy and might snow/ rain later in the day.  So boots are like the only option I am considering for footwear.  (I cannot wear my sorel boots because they are not quite acceptable as office attire).

So, which look better?

Personally I like the ones on the right, the V on the front of them looks better and elongates my leg.  These are also my new boots so I love to wear them all the time.  The issue is that these are suede, and I did seal them but I don’t want to just wear them out while it is snowing/ raining.  That is asking to get my booties ruined.   Which was why I was having the debate, part of the problem was I probably should not have tried them on at the same time.  The side by side with the same outfit really made me want to wear the new ones.

Then I stepped outside and realized, mans its freezing out there… So that made me rethink wanting to have my ankles out.  So I wore these.

I have 2 pairs of knee high boots that are my fall backs in the winter, both are warm and great to wear at any time in the winter.  I wore these to keep my calves and legs extra warm.  I apparently turn into a baby about the cold once I have 70 degree weather.  haha.

So then the question is aren’t these suede as well?  Won’t they be ruined as well with the weather?  So yes probably they will,  I have had these boots for about 5 years now, and I do love them, but I have been on the look out for a very similar boot so I can retire these.  Now its not like I am wearing these out in a rain storm, there was just some potential for snow.  So I am a little bit more willing to risk it with these boots. (Please feel free to let me know if you know where I can get similar boots, they have a hidden heel).

My Bootie Problem

Hello hello!!  I fully acknowledge my boots and bootie problem, I love them and I do not seem to be able to stop myself from buying them.  I tend to find a pair that I like, think about it for a bit and then buy them anyways. haha

This has happened on the last 2 pairs of boots that I purchased, and somehow I stumbled upon another pair that I really liked.  They are also by the same designer that I got my  pair of over the knee boots that I love.  I was doing really good convincing myself I didn’t need them, then they went on sale… These booties

Here they are, I have no regrets.  I just got them today and have been wearing them around my house.  I cannot wait to wear them in real life. haha.  I will tell you more when I wear them out.

Booties with some flare

Hello Hello!! I got some New booties!  And I am pretty excited about them.  I have been looking for black boots for awhile, I have a lot of brown ones but no black boots.  Then I stumbled across these boots with this amazing gold/ chrome heel.

img_20170208_203102_edited

These come in 3 colors, black, brown and burgundy, I did have a long debate when ordering these about getting the burgundy.  I do love burgundy right now.  But in the end I went with black I figured they would be more versatile in my wardrobe, which they are.  Also these boots are actually more comfortable then I thought they would be.  The heel is 4 inches high so they are not for the faint of heart but if you can wear that high of heels go for it.  These are great, they didn’t hurt my feet at all.  (I am really good in heels but the fact that the heel on these are chunky makes them easy to wear for awhile).

I was waiting to share these until I have worn them a few times and have an opinion about them.  I have been wearing them going out, casually, on date and I wore them to work (not recommended given the heel height).  I love wearing them with skinny jeans rolled up, makes me feel great and in charge of my life.

Yes I have an obsession with black skinny jeans but they are just so comfy and look so good.  Especially when worn with these boots, which at $42 are actually reasonably priced.
