Hello Hello!!! So as some people may know I have moved to Chicago. Mostly to be closer to my family and really close friends but after living in a small city for so long it feels really good to live in a large city again. (One that has more going on). So I have spent some time getting acclimated to the new city and trying to make friends here.
So I travel back to the main office once a month to have way to many meetings and meet with my bosses. So I figured on that week I can do a what is business casual edition.
(With a bonus of the last day being a travel business look).
Also I would like to note that the last time I was in the office it was ice berg cold and I had to barrow a blanket from the hotel in order to survive. So when I went this past week my plan was to be as warm as possible, lots of sweaters and tights.
Monday –
So this was probably my favorite outfit of the week. I absolutely love this skirt, I bought it last year from Modcloth and it is one of my best investments. The A-line skirt in this subtle brown tweed looks good with almost anything. I paired it with a white sweater to add some pop and to stay warm. The sweater kind of pushed the bounds of what I am normally comfortable with, it has more of an open back and wider neckline then I normally wear. Given how conservative the front in as how conservative the rest of the outfit is, I went with it.
I paired it with tights and booties. I just got these bootiess, they lace up the front and go to just above the ankle. The lace ups have a really cute button detail. I have been dying to wear these and am loving how they look with this outfit.
Tuesday –
This was probably my longest day full of meetings. I didn’t know how many until I got into town so I was actually super happy I brought pants. I usually dislike work pants and almost never wear them. I had originally planned to wear the boots from above with this outfit but last minute went with flats. I wore these stretchy work pants, with a this shirt tucked in. I added this large cardigan since I was super worried about being cold.
Wednesday –
Ahh this is a standard for my fall/winter work wardrobe, a [sidewalk skirt[(https://factory.jcrew.com/p/womens-clothing/skirts/mini/wool-sidewalk-skirt/95435) with a top tucked in tights and boots. Love this!! Very comfortable and I have already talked about my love of these J. Crew sidewalk skirts in previous posts. I tucked in this sweater, since I was worried about the coldness of my office. The sweater is currently on sale, and is warmer then it looks.
Thursday –
This was the first day that I fully planned before flying out. It was the one I thought about most since I was going to be catching a flight after work. I wanted to make sure the outfit was work appropriate and was comfortable enough to travel in and sit on a flight in. This dress has been in my closet for years and I still wear it all the time, the tweed is a timeless classic, which makes this dress great. The dress has always paired well with boots and tights. I added my cardigan to keep warm both in the office and on the flight.
So when I am flying directly after work I typically look for an outfit that allows some stretch. As well as one that would not cause problems getting through security, so shoes that are easy to get off. I liked this outfit because it was easy and warm. I also paired with my trench coat which has the pockets I appreciate when travelling.
