Got Me Some New Booties

Hello Hello!!  So if you pay attention to my instagram or the photos I post on here you will probably notice that these are not exactly new but I have not posted about them so I thought I would now that I have worn them a few times!  So I was looking for a pair of flat booties since all the ones I currently own all have heels.  Now as you can see I failed at doing that since these do have heels.  Damnit!! haha.  But sometimes you cannot pass up a great pair of shoes.

These boots are amazing.  I was actually a little concerned with how high the boot shaft went up, I was expecting them to have a shorter shaft.  I was a little worried about how to style them since all of my other booties are shorter.  But I have been styling them the same as my other booties and have been wanting to wear them with some leggings to show off my legs.

So there is no zipper on these which is kind of annoying but there is enough stretch in them to get them on and off with ease.  I have worn these all day at work and I have worn them all night when going out.  I am going to say that I am very good in heels but these were very comfortable and I had no issues wearing them.

I would recommend these boots to you, they are very comfortable and look really good when I wear them out.

Thanksgiving Outfit

Hello hello!!  So it is Thanksgiving time again, now I am going to say Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  I love it!! There is no real pressure to get the present perfect just sitting with your family and eating food.

Now when I was trying to figure out what to wear I’ve thought about what I wore in the past and what I liked.  Last year I wore a shift dress and some tights.  It felt a little bit fancier then what my family usually wears but I loved it.  The outfit allowed me not to wear pants so I didn’t have a waistband constricting my ability to eat.

So this year I wanted to wear another comfy outfit.  Problem was that I didn’t want to buy a new dress and the only dress that really fit the bill was the one I wore last year.  I didn’t want to wear that again so this is what I went with.

I paired my brown sidewalk skirt with a stripped long sleeve t-shirt.  Both the shirt and the skirt are supper comfortable, but they both look really nice and that’s key.  I can wear the skirt but since the waistband doesn’t dig in it won’t constrict my ability to eat.  I added the tights because I’m in Wisconsin and it’s currently cold here.  To make the outfit a little fancier I added this sparkly statement necklace.  I finished the look with a pair of booties.

So I can be comfortable and still look out together for the holiday.

Making casual clothing work in the office setting

Hello Hello!!  This is all about wardrobe maximization, I am going to share a few items that you would not expect to be able to wear in a business setting and how to make them work for you.  This is all about acknowledging what is making the piece of clothing casual and working to mitigate that with your other clothes.  I am going to show you a few ways that I did this.

The Casual Fancy T-Shirt

Now yes this is a nicer shirt than a graphic T-shirt but I would never recommend wearing a graphic T-shirt in a business casual setting.  So the fact that this is a little nicer then a regular T-shirt allows it to work in a business setting.  So what is stopping me from wearing this to work by itself?  Well first it is still a T-shirt and second the bottom of the shirt is just adds to the very T-shirt vibe.

Alright, so my fixes are first tuck the bottom of that shirt into a really great skirt, it does not have to be a super businessy skirt (this one is not) but adding the skirt some tights and a pair of heels really does take the casual away from the shirt.  If you still feel like the shirt you picked is too casual add a cardigan or blazer and that will take away the sleeves.

The Crop Top

First let’s state the obvious, this is a crop top and it is meant to show off your belly.  So you would not want to wear this just by itself to work (even on a casual day)  No one in the HR department wants to see your belly.

So my fixes – well you need to take away what makes it a crop top by tucking in the bottom.  So the skirt that you pair it with should be high waisted.  As well as the skirt’s waist band should be good so that the bottom of the shirt does not slip out.  That is the one tip I have, is to be careful with this shirt slipping out.  As well as be careful with skirts that have an eye hook on them.  Otherwise this shirt is pretty appropriate as long as you hide the fact that it is a crop top.

Waterfall Cardigan

So this one is not too hard but I do have a few that have some pretty bright patterns on them.  I love these cardigans because it is like wearing a blanket. I like wearing it under coats because it sticks out and looks cool.

So paired the cardigan with one of my most businessy dresses.  Doing this kind of evens each piece out and the outfit is a perfect business casual outfit with a flare of personality.  I belted the cardigan to keep it a little bit more under control.  Easy to remove the belt at your desk and get more of a blanket affect.

Midweek Casual Day

What What!!  I love when these days randomly come around at work.  For those of you that work in an office and have to dress business casual or business formal you know that any day that you do not have to wear the required clothing is an amazing day.  I personally do not like to wear work pants but the minute I am allowed to wear jeans I am about that life.  Haha.

Boots and Sweater Season!!  I love wearing this black sweater, it is just so chill and has a great lace up detail on the back.  It is one of my favorite pieces that I bought last year.  The casual vibe of a large sweater is the best.  I paired it with these heeled booties.  I cuffed the jeans to my the boots more of a statement.  I loved how comfy this outfit was.

It is actually not too cold here so I only needed my light trench coat today when I was walking to and from work.  This outfit is really a fall favorite of mine and I tend to wear variations of this look all season.

Halloween Outfit

Hello Hello!! So obviously Halloween was this week.  I love Halloween, not because I am good at thinking of great costumes but because I love watching what everyone else comes up with.  People watching on this day is the best, I love to talk with people about who they are dressed up as.

So with that being said I am not very good at coming up with costume ideas on my own and I don’t always want to spend money on a costume that someone else came up with.  This year I wanted to just go into my closet and find something that will work as a costume.  When I was talking with some friends about going out and I thought hey I could go as Sandy from Grease.  That would be super easy.

Sandy

I mean it was really easy, I just went into my closet and found my black skinny jeans (would have been better if I had moto pants but I do not), I put on a black tank top tucked in, added a belt and finished it off with a leather jacket.  You cannot see in the photo but Sandy is wearing red mules, so I added my bright red pumps.  All and all I am really happy with how it turned out and it only cost me $0.  This is probably a costume I would repeat since I already own everything and it was so easy.
