Hello People- this is a question I constantly ask myself especially since I do not have a roommate and usually end up getting ready on my own. I usually have an idea about what I want to wear but always wonder if I am going to overdress the situation.
My friend and I got tickets to see Amy Schumer this weekend. This was also the first day it got up to 80 degrees and be windy. So my first thought when its that nice is to wear a dress (because I typically do not like women’s short shorts).
This dress is typically one that is always a contender when I am going to a wedding because I can dress it up. But going to a comedy show I wanted to dress it down. Typically I like to wear this dress with a belt to define my waist more but belts usually dress up an outfit the opposite of what I wanted to do.
So how do you dress down an outfit? Add a chambray shirt- which to me is the definition of casual attire. I usually throw this shirt on in the spring when I am running errands and it is still a little chilly. As long as you are not wearing jeans this will work to dress down any outfit, with jeans it will just look weird and like you are trying for the Canadian Tuxedo look.
The accessories – the belt is one of my favorite belts- when I was putting it on when getting dress I put it on inside out and realized I loved the back so it was like getting a whole new belt.
<- this is the actual front of the belt, it is fancier then the back of the belt which is why it worked so much better the way I wore it.
Hello hello hello- so my birthday is coming up and I have been trying to find something to wear that I like more then anything in my closet. So I went to this cute boutique in town to see if they had anything.
I found this white tank top and I was not really sure about it in the store. It is my style, I love the lose tops especially when they are partially sheer top. I went to the boutique over my lunch and when I tried this on I did not like it and thought it was too big and baggy. The shirt had so much extra fabric in the front that I thought it was meant to hide my waist. I loved the style and it was so cute and figured maybe this top just didn’t go with my work casual clothes. So I bought it anyways with thoughts to try it on with some of my other clothes. The above was me trying to figure out how to make this shirt work, but still looked rather large.
And then I partially tucked it in and LOVED IT!!! It brought back my waist and gave me back my figure.
I never wanted to take off this outfit and I immediately wanted to go out for the night and enjoy the outfit. I was so excited that I made this top work and so well that I loved it. I am not returning it now
(also I am working on not taking all selfies but I don’t have a roommate so sometimes its tough to convince people to take pics of just me)
Hello People! – sorry for the hiatus I had a family emergency and needed to be away for a bit. While I was gone I got a delivery of my new shoes!! I am pretty excited about them they are so fun and cute. They made me think of spring and were so cute I had to have them.
So I wore them to work the day after I got them to break them in, it did require a few band aids in order to prevent blisters (thats a most heel kind of thing) but otherwise I lasted the whole day and my feet didn’t hate me when I got home. I love them to wear to work to brighten up the office building, they are a great pop of color in an otherwise grey world. So comfy I cannot wait to wear them again, I may even wear them tomorrow.
Later! so almost forgot-they are on sale from Modcloth and run true to size (27.99 including shipping)
So I spend a significant time of my life in gym clothes but finding comfortable gym clothes (pants in particular) are hard to find. But when I find great gym clothes I kind of want to wear them all the time. I will never judge someone for their clothing at the gym because just making it to the gym is a big enough challenge. Usually when I am at the gym I just want to know where people got their workout pants.
So my extent of matching is this fleece with these pants, and I just happen to be wearing them on the same day. So as many people will relate to, finding great workout pants that look good, are functional and breathable is hard. I have found these Fila pants from Kohls and they are Amazing. Not only do they look good (in my opinion) they are the most comfortable pair that I own. I loved them so much this is the second pair I bought and I would by another but summer is coming and I am transitioning away from pants to capris. The mesh part wraps around the leg behind the knee which makes them look awesome. Advice on the pants is they do run small in my opinion so it might take a few tries.
Shirts are much easier to come by then pants, usually I just wear old tank tops from college that I no longer wear in my regular life. This shirt I bought, bonus points for the people who know its a reference to Gilmore Girls. Mrs. Patty’s School of Ballet. This is a comfy tank and I wear it all the time, does not ride up and great for working out.
