Ivory Clasp

Hello Hello!!  So I have seen this subscription service advertised all over social media lately.  This is a subscription service for handbags. Whenever I go to their site they have this bag on their home page that I really like.  So I debated for a little bit about weather to sign up.  I saw a 50% off your first box and decided to give it a try, it has been almost a year since I bought a bag so why not?

Well I signed up and there was kind of a weird survey where you just pick all the handbags you like.  So I went through like 10 pages of this clicking on all the bags that I was attracted to, which was surprisingly not a lot.

After this my email just got inundated with so many emails from them, and half of them were  asking me to sign up.  Which was just really annoying because I had just signed up, how else would you have just gotten my email.  But whatever I rolled with it.  I was curious what bag I would get sent.  Then an email showed up asking me if I wanted to pick my own bag, and since I was worried about someone else picking my purse I followed the link.  I was able to pick out the purse that caught my eye.

But I would like to not that this is not s subscription service where they style for you if they allow you to pick you own bag.  I am happy I did get to pick my bag and I am sure if you didn’t pick a bag they will pick for you.  I like the bag that I got but I did pick it.

Its an okay service, I don’t know if I will do it again.  The most annoying this to me is all the emails.  And then on top of that how long it took for them to ship it to me.  As well as the complete lack of being able to track the shipment.  Maybe I am spoiled but this is the year 2018 and everything that is ordered online should have good tracking.

Basics: Belts

Hello Hello!!  I want to talk about something that I personally do not really like but are necessary to every wardrobe, Belts.  And I am not talking fancy belts that can make your outfit look better.  I am talking about belts that actually keep your pants up.

So I have been vehemently opposed to belts.  I don’t really know why exactly maybe it is a combo of this.  First, I don’t really like the bulge they put right around your waist.  Like no I don’t need any more attention pointed in this direction.  Second, every time you go to the bathroom it is like this extra process.  And then, I cannot find a belt that functions as a belt but is also cute, you either get one or the other.

Lately I had a pant size that worked really well I did not need a belt to keep them on, they were prefect.  So what caused me to look into this again?  Well on black Friday I was buy pants, and yea the line for the fitting room was longer then the one to check out so I was only trying on a few and doing it as fast as possible.  So I tried on 2, I knew my size so no big deal.  But I picked the wrong length and just switch the pants and didn’t try them on again.  Turns out these new pants were a little loser then the other ones.

So yes these are the pants that I have been looking for an answer for but did not want to buy a belt.  Well I saw on amazon this buckleless belt.  And I had to figure out what this was.  So the first few times I was trying it out, it felt really weird, and I spent significant amount of time trying to get the size of the belt right.

So this belt is basically an elastic band that has snaps on both sides and a metal clasp to adjust the length of the belt.  So when you put this one the snaps go around the belt loops that are on either side of the button and you thread it through all the other belt looks.  So this is nice because you do not have any buckle in front, these snaps do not push out from the line of the body, and you do not have to undo and redo the belt every time you go to the bathroom.

Once I got the length perfect, this made the belt perfect.  So I wore this out last night and I had no issues.  It was a million times more convenient then an actual belt with a buckle. It made the pants really feel like they fit perfectly.  Given the price I would highly recommend at least giving this a try.

Especially since I was tucking my shirt, it was made all the more convenient.  Then with the snaps, I mean they do stick out but they do not look bad.  In the future I might do something to make the snaps not stick out too much.

Let’s Be Real For Sec

Hello Hello!!  Not that I am not real in all my other posts, I genuinely do wear everything that I tell you about and have an opinion and want to help everyone out.  I just want to take a minute to talk about high heels at work.  Now the question is don’t you wear heels all the time?  Yes and no.  I do wear heeled boots fairly frequently at work but these have block heels which are easy to walk in.  I don’t typically wear high heels to work I do once and a while and I am counting high heels as like over 3″.

Every once in a while I will have an outfit that I just don’t want to walk out the door in anything but heels.  Heels at work is hard because it is an 8+ hour day a work which is much more then a night out.

First, yes I do wear work pants every once and awhile, I will walk about these pants in another post but this one I want to talk about shoes.  I love these shoes, they are a great nude color and typically these are my fancy dress shoes.  They have about a 3 and a half inch heel.  I typically can wear these for a night out with out any issues.

Here is a quick side view of the heels.  Now when I was leaving the apartment I had a thought, what if I can’t wear these all day?  Now I was in the just put on the shoes confident mood so I was just like no, way I am wearing these all day and besides I have a desk job how hard could it be.  After that I had the second thought that I had meetings on different floors which meant stairs.  So right before I left I grabbed a pair of toms in case I didn’t make it all day.

Spoiler:  I did not make it all day in these shoes, I made it to 2:30pm, through all my meetings and after the last one I got back to my desk and my feet were just like I quit.

So this is where I ended up at 2:31pm at work, I cannot say I am upset about the choice to bring an extra pair of shoes.  My feet got a break and it was really nice.  I love these Toms.  Also, it was like a totally different look for the day, took the outfit from very businessy to casual at work.

Actually when I got complimented on my outfit it was because of these shoes so how knows which outfit is actually better.

Faux Fur Scarf

Hello Hello!! So I talked a little about this a few weeks ago when I reviewed the Rachel Zoe box of style. Well I have started to wear this, mostly because it is not unbearably cold when I need to wear a fleece scarf. I have worn this faux fur scarf and I love it. I think it adds so good depth to any outfit. Also it just makes any outfit look fancier.

I was going to a pretty casual lunch with a friend and I just added the scarf to the outfit. It looks amazing with the suede leather jacket. I know the jacket by itself is super fancy but add the scarf and it is amazing.

The jacket goes with the boots so well but when adding the scarf it kind of distracts that the shoes and jacket are matchy matchy.

It is a little bit harder to see here because of the black shirt but I loved wearing it. I have so much fun when I can add this to any outfit. It literally sits out next to my purse waiting for any day that I can just put it on.

Day Time Art Exhibit

Hello Hello!!  So there has been this really chill art exhibit showing in town and I have been dying to go.  I convinced a friend and we went a little before noon before I had to meet up with someone for lunch.

Now I tend to struggle the most with dressing for casual events with friends, typically I want to dress up too much.  When I am by myself I never have to think about the fact that if I dress up too much me and my friends will look like an odd couple.  So I actually tried on this outfit first and decided against it.

So it is a pretty dark outfit.  I love this top with the lace details on the front and the back.  Paired this with these dark blue jeans and heeled booties makes for a really cute outfit.  But given how dark the shirt is and how dark the jeans are it felt like this was a little more night appropriate.  So I decided to change the top.

I already had the jeans on and they were cuffed pretty good to work with the booties so I didn’t want to change those and start all over again.  I went into my closet looking for a different top that wouldn’t be as fancy.

I landed with a classic V-neck, this is actually one that I bleached out the graphic on it.  So this is one of my go to casual shirts, made even more casual by the fact that there is a graphic on the front.  Now that I am here I felt like it was too casual.  So what a predicament.

So I just decided to tuck the shirt in.  I love tucked shirts.  They are the best.  I pair them with skinny jeans and it gives a very different feel to the outfit.  I love the waist that I get when I tuck in shirts.  I feel like I get longer legs and a skinnier waist with these.

Military Style Boots

Hello Hello!! So lately I have been looking for a boot to be an in between in my wardrobe. Currently in my wardrobe I have snow boots (real heavy duty nice Sorel boots) and I have knee high leather rider boots. In the winter I am always at this weird place of its not snowing and there is no real snow on the side walk so the Sorels do not seem appropriate, but then there are the knee high boots that when I am just running errands seem too fancy.

A few weeks ago I saw one of my friends wearing these really cool looking military boots, and I thought maybe if I get a solid pair of these they could become my “utility” boots that I can wear. I really want to wear them when I am running errands on the weekend, walking to the gym and walking to work. I found these boots

Maker:L,Date:2017-8-31,Ver:5,Lens:Kan03,Act:Kan02,E-ve

So when I first took them out of the ASOS box I was super skeptical about them. Would I wear them? Are they too butch for me? Will I like wearing them? How will they handle some snow?

I had a lot of thoughts, these are not my typical style and are a little outside my comfort zone but they were a reasonably price and I really wanted to try. So I kept them even after a length conversation with my sister who said that she didn’t like them. My main worry was were they too butch.

I wore this outfit over the weekend, yea I worry about looking butch and the first thing I wear them with is a cargo jacket but it was warm out this weekend and I wanted to wear this coat. Actually this time out running errands made me love these shoes. I was wearing them out and walking around with the melting snow all over and just was so happy I bought these. They were just so easy to put on and so comfortable to wear around.

Yea I wear them when I walk to the gym so it is a lot of workout leggings and these sweaters that I love to wear when I lounge around. I personally think that these boots seamlessly fit in my wardrobe. I also don’t think they look butch with how I wear them.

My Go To Casual Outfit

Hello Hello!! So I have realized that I rely on one outfit to do a lot of work in my wardrobe, especially for my work casual days. This is such a great outfit that works in so many different settings. I have worn variations of this outfit to work on casual days, out running errands, and to dinner with friends. (I would also consider wearing it on a chill date, not like the first date but like third or fourth, lol).

Alright so why do I pick this outfit? Well I absolutely love this cardigan, instead of a pattern on the waterfall it has this texture which just makes it look really cool. For a casual look I typically pair it with a v-neck, the left was worn to work on a casual day and the right to run some errands. Since the cardigan is so dark I don’t like to pair it with my dark wash jean and instead go for my lightest pair.

Then I obviously finished it with my favorite pair of booties, these are amazing I will take any excuse to wear these shoes.
